My getaway to Rotterdam

My getaway to Rotterdam

Last weekend I really needed to refresh my mind.
Just get out of the Home-Work routine.
So a little trip to Rotterdam sounded like music in my ears.
When I was younger I used to go all the time to this port city. It didn’t had any secrets for me but after such a long time of not going, I supposed I wouldn’t know my way anymore.
Surprisingly walking through the streets brought me back so many memories. It felt like it was yesterday I was shopping here with my mom and aunt as a kid.
Don’t get me wrong, Rotterdam has evolved a lot: new shops, restaurants, buildings like the Markthal,..

We had a late lunch at Sugo. A small place where you can eat delicious pieces of pizza’s.
The one with chicken and chilisauce is sooooo Yummy!!!

To end our afternoon we had a piece of cake and coffee at De Koffiebar. I love the smell of coffee but not the taste so I had a hot chocolate and a piece of apple crumble. I want to go back just thinking about it.

Mainport Hotel Rotterdam

We didn’t have any luck with the weather so our walk through the city was a quiet short one.
But we didn’t really mind cause our hotel was wonderful.
We stayed at the Mainport Hotel situated a long the water and near the Erasmus bridge and the shopping streets. The Mainport is part of the Inntel Hotels.

The Lobby is an open space with view over the water. While entering this space you get a ZEN-feeling over you. You just feel good, calm, … at ease.

Our room was on the 7th floor so we took the glass elevator. Walking through the arabic tinted hallway we arrived at our room.I opened the door and it was mind blowing!!!
The first thing that I noticed was the huge window that gave us a splendid view over the port ans such a light that made me Super Duper Happy.
We had all we needed for the perfect weekend, a great room, a super comfy bad, champagne and not to forget a jacuzzi with an amazing view in our bathroom.

Neither the less we decided to check out the hotels wellness on the 8th floor.
If you don’t mind being naked around people, you can stay on the Mainport side where you can find a sauna, hammam and have different kinds of treatments.
But if you rather be in your swimsuit than you can enjoy the facilities at the H2O-hotel that is connected to The main port hotel on the 8th floor.

To end our first day in Rotterdam we enjoyed a lovely dinner and cocktails at the “Down Under”, the hotels restaurant.
If you have allergies or are on a certain diet, just tell the staff and they’ll take care of you.

After a great meal we enjoyed a really good night of rest to wake up to an amazing breakfast buffet with fresh made pancakes, omelettes, French toasts and more goodies.

I would have loved to stay forever but Hey, a girl needs to go home and work.
So I really want to thank the whole Mainport Staff for their kindness and attentions.
I’ll come back for sure!

Hugs and kisses
